Error 12010 Installing Adobe Reader X

Wanted to open a PDF file but system could not find the program to open it.

Tried installing Adobe Reader X but received error message:

This product is already installed
Error Code : 12010

Uninstalled the program from system and tried reinstalled from Adobe Website, received error message:

Windows Installer
Windows Installer does not permit patching of managed advertised products.
At least one feature of the product must be installed before applying the patch.

Solution:
Download a application call "Windows Installer CleanUp Utility 7.2" from
http://majorgeeks.com/download.php?det=4459 (Application Name: msicuu2.exe)
Install it, double click on the icon to open it and select "Adobe Reader X" from the list, follow by the remove button.
Once done, close the application.

Now, go to Adobe Website and reinstall Adobe Reader X again, it should work.

Note :
You can also use the utility to remove installation information for programs that were installed using Windows Installer if there is an installation fails maybe due to some files are corrupted and left with a partly installed program.

Caution is advised, only use the utility if you hit above mention problems and I recommend that you do not use this utility with 2007 Office system products.

For removing Office 2003, 2007 and 2010, please refer to :
How do I uninstall Office 2003, Office 2007 or Office 2010 suites if I cannot uninstall it from Control Panel?
